When it comes to sales in the automotive business there’s big figures, small figures and decent ones somewhere in between.
Rising far above any of them stands one special category. It’s the Ford F-150 pickup category.
Champion of sales for so many years I’ve bothered counting, the most popular pickup Ford has to offer did it again this year.
In fact, Ford claim to have sold a pretty well rounded number of F-150 pickups. The claimed sales figures stand at just over 500.000 units of the Ford F-150 sold.
Say whatever you will, be a fan boy of whoever you want but figures tend to contradict you as the Ford F-150 is pretty much king of the hill. 2009 was the year that saw sales of even the mighty F-150 fall back but over the past year the rebound saw the Blue Oval shifting some 21% more than last year.
If you don’t really understand how much that means in sales let’s do a bit of number crunching. Basically, at this yearly figure Ford sold one F-150 every minute it’s been on sale for.
