Cadillac plans to really ride the whole CTS revival thing to the end and as part of their ideas they will introduce a new Touring package next year.
Like it or not, while the CTS is a massive step forward for Cadillac, it is the CTS-V crazy performance version that really made it shine.

For 2012, the American company’s new Touring package will bring the regular CTS closer to its high performance version without pushing costs too far.
Now, call me intuitive, but cost cutting certainly isn’t the way of the sports car so the Touring pack will have a few downsides.
The 2012 Cadillac CTS Touring will be available for any of the regular body styles of the normal car and will feature an interesting set of, erm, features.

To begin with, the suspension gets beefed up which gives you roughly the same driving feel as the magnetic one in the CTS-V is when driving hard.
In highlighting the exterior touches, the Cadillac CTS Touring will come with HID headlamps, a dual exhaust system, a taillight spoiler, new 18 or 19 inch wheels and a darker grille finish.
Inside you also get a few pleasant tricks such as suede inserts on the seats and steering wheel as well as some extra wood touches.
Pricing adds just 2.065 dollars for the 3.0 liter V6 and 2.810 USD for the 3.6 liter V6 version.

You may wonder why Cadillac would decide to charge you more for the larger powered engine if the Touring offers up the same sort of kit.
Actually, it doesn’t, the 3.6 gets Recaro seats for a bonus and 19 inch alloys as standard.
