If Audi’s 2011 A8 isn’t enough for your sporty desires then perhaps the S8 is more to your liking.
After a slight preview several months ago, the Ingolstadt based company finally unveiled their 2013 Audi S8 during this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
The enormous high performance four ringed badge wearing sports sedan doesn’t come with the same number of cylinders in its big engine as the opposition but it does seem to retain the pace.
Under the elegant body, the slightly aggressive front end contains a brand new 4.0 liter V8 with added twin-turbocharging effect which produces 520 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.
As if the new power ratings that are better than the 12 cylinder Audi A8 L, the S8’s new powerplant is also considerably more efficient and crammed full of lots and lots of technology offerings.
For example, the fuel economy rating of 23.06 miles to the gallon on the US cycle is considerably better than what any of the Audi S8’s rivals can manage.
Since none of them have the benefit of all wheel drive it gets even more impressive when going through the full analysis of the performance the 2013 Audi S8 can deliver.
That’s a 0 to 62 time of 4.2 seconds and a top speed that stands at the usual German approved 155 mph electronic limit.
