Skoda revealed today the new Rapid sedan in its full splendor. The Czech model measures 4,48 meters long, 1,71 meters wide and rides a reworked variant of VW Polo’s platform.
In terms of engines, the new Rapid comes with a 1.2-liter MPI unit with 74hp, a 1.2-liter TSI producing 85hp and 103hp but also a range-topping 1.4-liter TSI turbo engine developing 121hp.
On the other hand, the diesel range includes a 1.6-liter unit with 89hp ad a 1.6-liter TDI CR engine offering 104 horses.
The new Skoda Rapid will be seen in world premiere at the upcoming Paris Auto Show this fall while the European debut is set for the late 2012.
It remains to be seen if the new Rapid sedan will be able to score the succees of its predecesors, well-known models such as the Octavia or Fabia.
Pricing information on the new Czech model will be released in the coming months, as the debut date gets closer.
