The 2016 BMW X5 xDrive40e unveiled a couple of days ago is now popping up in our news again, this time the German based carmaker launching the first official promo with the model. The video is highlighting the plug-in hybrid`s driving dynamics as well as its powerful performance on the roads.
The 2016 BMW X5 xDrive40e is now here and it is heading to the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show soon, where it will be also launched on the market after the event. The great surprise is that the company`s first plug-in hybrid on the X segment is coming with a conventional engine, backed by an electric motor.

The 2.0-liter four-cylinder is developing 245 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, while the electric motor produces an additional 113 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. With an overall 313 horsepower and good 450 Nm of torque, the 2016 BMW X5 xDrive40e is capable of reaching 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds, at a top speed of 210 km/h.

Another strong point of the powerful X5 xDrive40e is the 9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which fully charges in approximately 4 hours, and comes with a mile range of 31 km, at a top speed of 120 km/h.

The 2016 BMW X5 xDrive40e will be built in South Carolina, US, at BMW`s plant at Spartanburg, along with other BMW models, such as the X3, the X4, the standard X5 as well as the X6.
