Following the successful launch of the 2017 Hyundai Genesis on the market more than six months ago, the South Korean carmaker has used the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show as the perfect opportunity to launch the all-new G80 Sport variant, set to come with more power and impressive features.
In terms of styling, the G80 Sport keeps the genuine and distinguishable design lines from the Genesis standard, coming however with new bits that would separate it from the present model.
We are looking here at standout features such as dark satin trimmings, dark chrome front grille, sport rocker moldings, new lower front and rear fascia, new 19-inch alloy wheels, and a wide choice of exterior colour, with the most standout being the Polar Ice or the Sevilla Red.
From a mechanical point of view, the high-end model comes with quad exhaust system, new suspension system with continuous damping control as well as much bigger rear brakes.
Inside, the cabin is as luxurious as it gets with the new materials, such as black microfiber suede headliner, sports seats with contrast stitching, black and grey leather, new and thicker steering wheels, carbon-fiber trim, sport pedals and much more.
On the gadgetry department, the 2017 Hyundai Genesis G80 Sport features the new infotainment system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, wireless charging and so on.
In the engine department, the 2017 Genesis G80 Sport is equipped with a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol, developing 365 horsepower, available at 6,000 rpm, and 376 lb-ft of torque, available between 1,300 rpm and 4,500 rpm. The model is equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the same one equipping the rest on the lineup.
