The Japanese carmaker Mazda has just unveiled the long-expected 2017 Mazda3 on the local market, the model reaching other markets worldwide, starting next month. Prices will be announced at a later date.

This is actually a facelift version of the current model, which comes with updated body styling elements, latest technology and a wide range of engines, both petrol and diesel.

Visually, the 2017 Mazda3 is packing updated headlights and grille, new rear end and bumper bar, the overall package giving the hatch and the sedan a sportier feel.

Inside, the technology is everywhere, with the main highlight on the car`s G-Vectoring Control, which according to Mazda representatives, “is a control technology that varies engine torque in response to steering inputs in order to provide integrated control of lateral and longitudinal acceleration forces.”

Other features also refer to new steering wheel, updated head-up display, electric parking brake or fresh silver accents and trimmings.

In the engine department, the 2017 Mazda3 comes equipped on the local market with a 1.5-liter petrol flat-four engine, followed by two diesels, a 1.5- and a 2.2-liter diesel, with no performance figures released yet.

According to each market policy, the choice of engines might differ. For instance, in Australia, the engine choice might comprise more potent petrol mills, dropping the current diesels as well. The complete list of specs and prices are to be launched at the end of June.
