Toyota Australia has recently announced the availability of a special Prado edition in the shape of the Altitude, with the seven-seater being more expensive than the standard model with around $5,000. This means that it will cost on the local market $68,230.
For the aforementioned price, you get plenty of new features at the exterior and interior. It is based on the GXL version and is set apart the standard model with some easy recognizable tweaks, like the spare tire on the rear tailgate, now being found underneath the vehicle. This allows the fitting of a hatch-like tailgate with opening glass.
Other features at the exterior refer to a choice of four colours, like silver pearl, crystal pearl, graphite and black, adding as well tilt-and-slide moonroof, full LED headlights with chrome trimmings, or 18-inch alloy wheels.
As for the interior, the model comes with a suite of high-tech gizmos and high-end materials, including black leather-accented upholstery, power seats up front with media unit and 14-speaker JBL sound system with digital radio.
The high-tech gadgetries refer to Blue-ray entertainment system, 9.0-inch LCD monitor, 5.1 channel surround sound system with three wireless headphones and remote control. Other features also include rearview camera, three-zone climate control, 7.0-inch touchscreen media interface and seven airbags.
In the engine department, the 2017 Toyota Prado Altitude features the same 2.8-liter turbo-diesel automatic engine, also found on the standard GXL.
