With just one month ahead the 2017 NAIAS, in Detroit, carmakers are already preparing for the first important auto show of the year, being busy releasing different teaser images or videos, highlighting thus their future prototypes or concepts.

It is also the case of the Japanese based Toyota carmaker, recently announcing the arrival of the 2018 Camry at the same event, by launching an image which showcases the car`s right rear taillight, revealing thus the evolutionary design of the model.

Even if there are no details with the arrival of the model, we could depict the overall styling by taking a look at the car`s taillights and the new vertical slit running down, which automatically indicates a sporty line. Not the mention the new design for the wheel arch or the multi-contoured rear haunch.

To cite the company, the all-new 2018 Toyota Camry is set to be an “eye-catching sedan” with a more appealing and head-turning design and classy styling cues. Not to mention the new and more performance powertrain under the hood.

Speaking about performance, the 2018 Toyota Camry is said to stand on the company`s new architecture, which is no other than the TNGA (Toyota`s New Generation Architecture, the same one found on the all-new Prius and which allows the fitting of various motorizations, including a hybrid one.

The fresh mill revolves around the 2.0-liter turbo flat-four engine, the very same found on the new Lexus models. In the current state, the engine develops a good 180 kW and 350 Nm of torque, so we should expect rather the same figures on the new Camry.

Besides the new 2.0-liter engine, the model will also get a higher yet less powerful 2.5-liter petrol flat-four with 135 kW and 235 Nm of torque, coming as well with a fuel consumption of 7.9 liters per 100 km. More details will arrive shortly.
