The Subaru hasn’t been on the tracks in the first row for some time now, but the car manufacturer has recently announced the upcoming of WRX STI, a race-spec model that will be present at the 24-hour race at Nurburgring in June this year.
The 2014 race will mark the Subaru`s long back on the tracks in the first places, after a long 7 year rest, especially for the day-long Ring races, but this year, the Subaru will have the chance to launch the new WRX STI.
The Subaru WRX STI racecar will make its debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, which will be next week and hopes to make a good impression and to bring back the old Subaru`s fans.
Let`s see what the WRX STI will bring as the main counter-attacker of Audi, Seat or Volkswagen.
Since the Subaru is decided for the SP3T class, it has to be powered by a turbocharged engine putting out a 1.75-liter engine with a max to 2.0-liter engine.
This way, the XRS STI will be targeting the first class win, after finishing second last year. The team of the Subaru will be led by Hideharu Tatsumi and Toshihiro Yoshida and Kouta Sasaki, with other European drivers to be announced soon.
