We know that despite repeated teasing and rumors Jeep isn’t planning on making a Wrangler Pickup truck very soon, so we might as well live with that, it’s not the end of the world.
But then, to some, not having a Jeep Wrangler Pickup is exactly the end of the world, so something had to be done. Enter Mopar and their JK-8 Independence kit.
It sounds a bit complex but basically, Mopar saw the interest there is at the moment for a Jeep Pickup truck and they decided, in their very own aftermarket way to capture the market.
Therefore the JK-8 Independence kit simply turns a four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited into something more loved by the American car buying public.
Sure, in turning your Jeep into a pickup truck you lose two doors, three seats and a proper boot, but you do get a 50-inch pickup truck bed with all the practicality that comes along for the ride.
And since we’re already in the customizing shop, perhaps you’d be interested in a lift kit, bigger wheels and 4.88 gears so you don’t have to kill the engine since you’ve geared it down.
All sounds like a bit of overkill to me but I’m sure Mopar will manage to sell plenty of these Jeep Wrangler Pickup conversions despite the relatively laborious job at hand.
