Audi released details on the A1 e-tron model which receives a series of improvements. Even though the German model is currently undergoing tests, with its availability still being not exactly known, Audi decides to revise the powertrain.
Under the bonnet we find a more powerful 115-horsepower electric motor capable to provide a 0-100 km/h sprint in 9,8 seconds.
Top speed is limited at 130 km/h while driving range is rated at 50 kilometers. The German model uses a 13,3 kWh lithium-ion battery while a rotary engine-generator capable of producing 34 horses is there to recharge the battery and improve the range to about 250 kilometers.
After Audi finishes the first stage of tests, a total of 80 units will be produced in order to be tested for about one million kilometers in order to see the model’s reliability.
Of course, after all these investigations, we expect to see the new A1 e-tron in the dealerships.
