BMW vs Audi vs Mercedes, that’s pretty much the way of the Germans as they constantly struggle to be on top or at least win over their rivalries.
Now, since Mercedes have been making a hot AMG version of their CLS for a while and with BMW recently announcing their M6 Gran Coupe, Audi won’t let them get away.
They’re catching up by promising to debut a new RS7 model at next year’s Detroit Motor Show. You know the one less than a month away?
Lots of details about this new version of the Audi A7 are pretty slim. The speculation is all we have.
We can take some comfort in the fact that Audi is a fairly predictable company and that plenty of the bits they’ll use in the RS version of the A7 have already been seen before.
Therefore, the most obvious choice of engine for the Audi RS7 would be the company’s new 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 mill.
Appropriately tuned for the occasion, it could push out up to 555 horsepower and oodles of torque, thus getting the sleek sedan moving quickly.
Expect the standard 155 mph top speed to be attainable as well as the sub five second time to get from 0 to 62 when launching.
Oh, and just in case you plan on going to the Detroit Motor Show and love RS powered Audi models, the RS7 is not the only one scheduled for an unveil there.
The Audi Q3 RS version will also be shown off there but that is an even more secretive model to get to know.
