Within the launch of the Audi R18 TDI endurance racer or the actual photo shoot we had that included it and the sunset, we got to see the car quite well.
There was something missing though, the outer skin that didn’t look like it was just a business man’s toy that would have fun round a race track.
Not anymore though, the Ingolstadters have now unveiled the war paint that’s going to be worn by this latest of Audi R18 TDI racer.
Sure, the new engine is interesting, the new aerodynamic setup is an engineer’s wet dream and the whole closed cockpit idea means there’s a lot of fun for the drivers but spectators don’t see it.
What us enthusiasts actually get to see, is the body shape and the racing liveries that remind us of the actual bloodbath that’s happening on our favorite tarmac locations.
It’s at this point where Audi’s R18 TDI racer now gets a trademark two tone silver and black paint that’s accentuated by some eye burning yellow accents.
For a diesel car, we have to admit, it does look like a slick car, a slippery shape and an overall great package that really fits the whole Audi grown-up still racing brand.
