Following the introduction of the GT in Japan and of the “Performance Package” in the United States last week, the Japanese carmaker Subaru has also unveiled the standard BRZ in Australia, the model coming tweaked with lots of goodies in terms of performance.
Once arriving on the hot continent towards the end of November, the 2017 Subaru BRZ will have a starting price of $32,990 in the manual, while the automatic will set you back at $34,990, with prices to fall down with $1,230 and $1,735, as opposed to last year`s versions, because of the exchange rate pressures.
Speaking about prices, Colin Christie, CEO at Subaru Australia, declared:
“Despite exchange rate pressures, our strong relationship with the factory has produced a great result for BRZ fans and that’s reflected in the volume of showroom interest since we teased the specification upgrades in August.”
For that money, you will get to enjoy new styling elements, such as updated LED headlights and taillights, more prominent bumper bar as well as the 17-inch alloy wheels, while inside, the cabin gets full automatic climate control, new steering wheels, updated instrument cluster and multimedia interface.
From a mechanical standpoint, the 2017 Subaru BRZ in Australia also comes with revised suspension, new lowering springs and dampers, or larger stabilizer bar, while the differential ratio has now been set to 4.3:1, which improves the car`s handling capabilities.
Performance wise, the new Subaru is equipped with a more potent 2.0-liter naturally aspirated fla-four engine, rated at 152 kW and 212 Nm of torque. The performance figures are yet to be unveiled at the moment.
