Yes, Camaro was born half a century ago! To celebrate this important event, Chevrolet will build and sell a special edition of the 2017 model.
If you want it, you’ll have to wait until this summer and don’t be sad: at least it’s earlier than September. Because in September 26 it will turn 50, as back in 1966 Chevrolet started to sale it. It came on market as a competitor for Ford Mustang and it’s already at the sixth generation. The 50th Anniversary edition will be available on the 2LT or 2SS, in coupe or convertible versions. Chevrolet says it’s the most epic Camaro yet. It brings a new color body scheme, with a Nightfall Gray metallic paint and orange and black stripe package. The Convertible models will have a black top.
A new design for the 20 inch wheels, with 50th anniversary center caps will allow the orange calipers to be admired on the LT model. In front, chromed elements are integrated into the radiator-grille, while the newly-designed splitter, painted in the body’s dark color adds even more aggressive looks. Let’s get onboard, to discover the black leather interior, with suede inserts and orange accent stitching. The designers also treated with distinct 50th Anniversary elements the steering wheel, the instrument panel, the seatbacks and the illuminated sill plates. The price list isn’t available yet. More, there is no word yet about a potential V8 6.2 liter engine modification. Currently, it delivers 453 hp and 617 Nm of torque and it’s 25% more economical than its previous generation, when equipped with automatic transmission.
