Chevrolet introduces today a new 1.7-liter VCDi engine for the five-door Cruze hatchback in the UK. We talk about a four-cylinder turbo diesel able to deliver 128 horsepower and 300Nm of torque.
However, the most important thing is the combined fuel consumption of 62,7mpg UK (4,5 liters/100 km) and CO2 emissions of 117 g/km.
The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is possible in 9,4 seconds while the top speed of the new diesel engine is rated at 200 km/h.
According to Chevrolet, the new engine is available with three trim levels starting with the LS package which provides electric front windows, air conditioning, electric mirrors and more.
The entry-level Chevrolet Cruze LS with the 1.7-liter VCDi starts at £16,725. Next up is the Cruze LT which receives a price tag of £17,825 followed by the top-of-the-range LTZ model at £18,685.
“The new 1.7 VCDi gives Chevrolet a real opportunity to compete in the core area of the five-door hatchback market, where tax implications, fuel economy and CO2 emissions are critical,” concludes Chevrolet.
