The Americans at Chevrolet officially announced that the long-awaited 2014 Corvette is now shipping to customers who placed an order. Priced from $51,995 in the home market, the new model is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 unit producing 455 horsepower and 624Nm of torque.
Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h takes only 3,8 seconds with fuel economy figures estimated at 17mpg (city) and 29mpg (highway).
The new Chevrolet Corvette is built at the Bowling Green Assembly plant after an investment of $131 million in the body shop and assembly line.
For now, the company built a total of 1,000 vehicles so don’t expect a very fast delivering, you might not be between the first 1,000 lucky clients.
“It’s an amazing sight to see the transporters filled with Stingrays heading to customers in all corners of the country,” says Chevrolet.
