China`s appetite for stretched models is not new and Cadillac is profiting the situation by launching the Chinese-based Cadillac XT5 at a local event. Also, the carmaker has announced the pricing tag.

The Cadillac XT5 is available in six versions with front- and all-wheel drive configurations. The cheapest version costs RMB 359,900 ($55,670), quite expensive than the US version, available from $38,995.

Speaking about size, the Chinese Cadillac XT5 comes with a 2,857 mm wheelbase, being 4,812 mm long, 1,903 mm wide and 1,680 high. Otherwise, the model carries over the same body styling, exterior color and the amenities of its US sibling.

The interior of the Cadillac XT5 comes with a lot of high-tech equipment, like the 8-inch touchscreen, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotsport with Apple CarPlay compatibility, the GM`s IntelliLink infotainment system, wireless charging and a few more.

Complying with the Chinese government regulations concerning engine configuration, the Cadillac XT5 will come with a 2.0-liter turbo engine, with 265 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque on the 28T, and 247 horsepower and the same 400 Nm of torque on the 25T. The engine is hooked to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Speaking about the Chinese government regulations, the 3.6-liter V6 engine with 310 horsepower and 366 Nm of torque, also found on the ATS and CTS, will not join the engine club on the Asian market.
