The Volkswagen Group German based automaker has learned that the key to success for its future e-models is to adapt imaginative and lucrative strategies.
This is why the carmaker has decided to launch the first 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf model in an online auction in the United States, before the car will start retail sales next month.
The announcement was made by representatives from the company, with the proceeds to be sent to the Global Green USA, one of the most important national environmental non-profit organizations in the US.
Michael Horn, the President of the VW Group of America, stated that the auction will be opened for the public “to support an important cause and to be the first proud new owner of the brand`s first electric vehicle in the US.”
The auction will start on October 29th, at 3:30 pm, ET on charitybuzz.com/vwegolf, with the 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf to have a suggested retail price of $35,445, without the $820 destination charge.
To be a reminder, the 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf is powered by an electric motor, developing a good 115 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque, being connected to a 24.2 kWh lithium-ion battery.
