Ford’s most fun production car to be sold in Europe is definitely the Focus. A hotter version of this hatchback just can’t go wrong.

That hotter version, the Focus ST is going to be coming back to the market with a third generation. It’s actually going on sale in the UK in a couple of days time.

Which is the main reason behind the latest announcement from Ford UK. They’ve announced the pricing they’re slapping onto the new ST.

Simply put, the Ford Focus ST five-door hatchback is priced from £21.995 on the road and the Estate from £23.095.

For that sort of money you’ll be looking at the “standard” ST1 trim level. Just as before, Ford is offering the ST1, ST2 and ST3 choices in this area.

Jumping up a class will see prices starting at £23.495 and, in return, you’re going to get partial leather seats, a better stereo from Sony, automatic lights and wipers, floor mats and dimming mirror.

The next class, the ST3 offers full leather, heated seats, Bi-Xenon lights, LED daytime running lights and keyless entry.

Regardless of the toys you specify for the interior, the underpinnings are identical; the Ford Focus ST is powered by a 2.0 liter EcoBoost four pot and a six speed manual gearbox.

The two give you 250 horsepower on tap and can still manage 39.2 mpg without emitting any more than 169 grams of CO2 per km.

Some say the Ford Focus ST is all things to all people. I just wish the looks on this model weren’t so middle of the road, it’s now nearly boring in appearance.
