American car makers usually have a rather faded presence at the Geneva Motor Show but it seems like this year things are going to be slightly different.
One of the Yank attacks on the Swiss show will be coming from Jeep as they plan to unveil the Grand Cherokee Sports Concept over there.

Unlike most concepts, this one from Jeep actually is a simple presentation for what could be a new trim level for their Grand Cherokee.
The new trim level is made up of special black accents for the exterior. These cover the 20 inch alloy wheels, headlamp bezels and grille surround.
Team that stuff up with tinted windows, a few accents for the tailgate and blackened roof rail covers and the exterior of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Sports Concept is all set.

Inside however, things are less about the detail and more about the major changes.
The seats in the Jeep Grand Cherokee are covered in Nappa leather and suede for the Sports Concept package and the steering wheel is swapped for a heated one.
Carbon fiber (the real stuff) makes an appearance in the interior trim pieces and aluminium makes one in the pedals.
Under the bonnet of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Sports Concept we find stuff that’s less exciting. There’s a 3.0 liter V6 with Fiat diesel tech.

This engine develops 241 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. The powerplant is teamed to a five-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Range Select.
Apparently, Chrysler will probe public reaction on this concept and then decide if it is to make it into production.
