As unlikely marriages go, you have stripper and octogenarian, Calvin Klein model and octogenarian and the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 and Ferrari. Wait, what?

Precisely, it seems like in an effort to leech on to the marketing fountain that is Maranello, Fiat’s partner Chrysler decided to treat the Ferrari F1 drivers to a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.

Certainly, multi-million dollar salaries are a relevant part of how questionable this action is but why on earth would you use Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8s?

I mean, sure, it’s a fast SUV, but as far as sportiness is concerned, we’re not exactly looking at the best option available. Certainly a hot version of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger would have been more suitable.

Anyway, if you actually are interested in the SUV, it got quite a few tweaks before being set off to the guys that get to the poor guys that drive Ferrari Formula 1 cars for a living.

None of these changes had anything to do with the drivetrain. You’re still looking at the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 which delivers 465 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque and the acceleration and top speed figures remain the same.

What has changed is the exterior. You’ve certainly noticed the sacrilegious usage of Ferrari’s Rosso Corsa paint and the contrasting black wheels and accents.

The interior shows off more of the same. Red and black leather seems to be covering up the whole thing and the look of the original Jeep Grand Cherokee’s SRT8 is retained.

A few other tweaks may have happened to the interior but I’m afraid we’ll never know just what these may be since Ferrari and Chrysler aren’t too keen on giving us the full reveal.
