Kicherer tuning is a German aftermarket specialist that has had so many goes at cars it is no longer a surprising moment when they announce a new package.

Speaking of unsurprising stuff, the Mercedes CLS 63 AMG is no stranger to tuning options regardless of who they come with, which kind of makes us wonder, what’s with the name?

This new setup is called the Mercedes CLS 63 AMG Yachting Edition. It doesn’t do sailing, it seems to have nothing to do with the way a boat looks or is finished inside.

Maybe somebody at the branding department had issues identifying what’s going on with the products they were making that day.

Regardless, here’s what we’re looking at; very few aesthetic tweaks excepting the alloy wheels, a tweaked interior and quite a bit of extra performance.

Beneath that 20/21 inch alloy setup and the carbon fiber trim we’re finding a 625 horsepower and 634 lb-ft of torque version of the 5.5 liter twin-turbo V8 engine.

Acceleration is no longer available upfront but the added grunt means that the top speed now goes as far up as 186 mph.

The extra power is definitely easy to tame in the Kicherer CLS 63 AMG since they ramped up the electronics on the chassis and fitted a few new tweaks.

Brake lines are now steel, the disks are larger than pizzas and the pads are high performance ones. Oh and let’s talk about the direct handling tweaks a bit.

There’s an electronic lowering module for the air suspension and a new limited slip differential round at the back.

Finally, inside the Yachting CLS 63 AMG we find premium leather, Alcantara trim and some high end stitching.
