Land Rover’s Defender may be several decades old but it’s still going strong. The British company just created a new special edition for the old 4×4.
The newest attempt at making a very old body look young using “facelift style” make-up is called the XTech Special Edition.

Don’t get carried away with the name, it has nothing to do with the experimental technology factor and nor does it have that much to do with the way a facelift should come along.
The lovely army-like exterior finish looks awesome and it feels very special and gives a rough and though car an even more aggressive look.
A problem with that however is the fact that the XTech was a special edition last year as well. It also came with roughly the same spartan equipment levels.

Forget head up displays, bluetooth or anything overly technological. The guys at Land Rover actually offer air conditioning, heated leather seats and some black trim.
The Land Rover Defender never was about the luxury but the new 16 inch alloy wheels look so good it seems almost shameful to get them full of dirty mud and leaves and all that.
You’ll once again find that there’s even less luxury to consider when you’ll know that you can only have a 2.2 liter diesel engine and that there’s a need for you to shift gears by yourself.

Mind you, if you want to look cool in the UK, go off-road or pose in town, an XTech Defender will only set you back £27.995 or about 43.500 USD.
