Perhaps McLaren has good reason to give up the 12C version in order to make room for the more advanced 650S, as it has had a great success due to its launch at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
Since it is mainly based on the 12C`s platform and concept, the McLaren 650S is in fact a unique car, with unique feature like a totally new body and equipment and a fresh updated unit.
Even if the 650S is about to taste its unexpected success, the 12C isn’t going to run along for the moment, even if the fresh star will seemingly absorb its personality.
Reports state that the McLaren car manufacturer will continue offering both the 12C and the 650S to its customers, as the company must go on with those clients that have already ordered the 12C.
More than that, the 12C will be eventually sucked in by the 650S as the market will eventually absorb the manufacturer`s existing short offer on the previous model.
This news come after the 650S was launched with a big howl at Geneva, confirming that the 12C will be eventually put off.
