The Mercedes-Benz German based luxury automaker has just announced that the new AMG GT will be officially unveiled on September 9.

The debut marks the official replacement of the present SLS AMG, with the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT being smaller, cheaper and with less muscle under the hood.

The good news is that the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT will be riding on a new platform, receiving the same long hood but with conventional doors and not the gullwing design seen on the SLS.

The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT will be thus coming with a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 unit, developing a good output of 510 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque in the GT-S version, while the base level will juice up 462 horsepower.

The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT-S version is ready to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, at the top speed of 312 km/h.

The hot news don’t stop here, as the German based automaker is also planning a new range of the famous Black Series, which will compete with the Italian supercars.
