Throughout history, the New York Auto Show, or anything to do to with New York and America never really went down well with various events marked out in the Gulf.
This year we’ve seen the exception that proves the rule, because the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG got a new paintjob one that is full of petrolhead memories.
Perhaps most of the motorsport audience today is a bit too old to remember the infamous Gulf livery/colors but even if that’s the case, this looks good.
And by this I mean the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG painted in Gulf’s well known baby blue shade with a touch of bright orange.
I’m being subjective on this, and I think most of you should be going the same route because a Mercedes supercar wearing Gulf colors is a touchy subject to fanatics.

Out on the other side, plenty of Ford GT40 and Porsche 917 petrolheads will also be readying their torches and pitchforks on their way to my house.
