Mitsubishi is one of my favorite car manufacturers for one simple reason. They don’t tend to bite off more than they can chew.

They’ve probably been the company that’s made the least number of concessions in terms of brand identity and ideology.

This is why their latest announcement grabs my interest. Mitsubishi plans to seriously expand their electricity powered range. In fact, the plan to expand their EV range up to the point where every model they make will have the option of being powered by such means.

That’s right folks, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV will be rubbing off its DNA on every Mitsubishi model to crop up in the future.

Rumors are going around about the Mitsubishi ASX’s next generation as being the first to benefit from this sort of technology with the rest of the lineup to follow suit.

I wonder how much a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO would enjoy the extra torque figures that can be managed by electric assistance. Hopefully Mitsubishi pull this thing off and we’ll get to see electric cars move away from the bland and gentle image of the Prius and Insight.
