The Mercedes-AMG has recently released the official details with the fresh out of the box 4.0-liter V8 engine, coming with two turbocharges which will be more fuel efficient and will have a charge pressure stopping at 1.2 bar.
The unit will have a top speed of 186,000 rpm and will be all wrapped in an aluminum crankcase and closed deck design.
More than that, the new 4.0-liter V8 engine will also benefit the NANOSLIDE technology, making the cylinder bore surfaces twice as hard, compared to the regular cast-ion linings.
The engine is also coming with forged aluminum pistons and low friction piston rings, which will also lead to a much more fuel-efficiency.
As it meets the Euro 6 emission standards, the 4.0-liter V8 unit will be able to produce a great 510 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque, between 1,750 rpm and 4,750 rpm.
The Mercedes-AMG will put the new 4.0-liter V8 unit on the long-expected Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, which will be unveiled this October, at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
