ABT Sportsline introduced a new tuning kit for the seventh-generation Golf, namely for the GTD version which represents the range-topping diesel offering.
In terms of styling, the company provides new front and rear spoilers, a revised front grille, larger alloy wheels, side skirts and restyled optical blocks.
Under the hood, the stock 2.0-liter engine which normally produces 184 horsepower and 380Nm of torque is now capable to deliver 210 horses and 430Nm of torque.
With the extra 26 horses and 50Nm of torque, the VW Golf GTD should get improved performance figures compared to the standard 7,5 seconds for the 0-100 km/h sprint and the top speed of 230 km/h.
ABT Sportsline keeps the same six-speed manual transmission and announces no other performance tweaks aside from the revised sport exhaust system. Pricing and availability details were not disclosed yet by the German tuner.
“The objective was to make this compact diesel even sportier. Our ABT Golf VII GTD is a very, very stylish power package,” adds the tuner.
