If you are big car maker with a wide range of vehicles and don’t have a small city car yet, makes sure to get aboard the compact vehicle trend. And if it runs on alternative energy, all the better.
And it also makes sense. With traffic becoming more congested each day, and air pollution on the rise, the small EVs are definitely a solution.
And this is what Nissan is planning for the future, a compact EV based on Renault’s Twizy. The new vehicle will take the best from the Twizy and promises to improve on its drawbacks. Etienne Henry, Nissan’s head of product strategy and planning, also hinted at the Land Glider, saying “it was a very interesting concept with very challenging and meaningful technology”.
While that doesn’t give us anything, we can go as far as to think that they might be considering the key feature of the Land Glider to use in the new compact EV. The concept would tilt when cornering, thus making the ride feel less stiff, a problem many Twizy users complained about. But until some confirmation is issued, it is all just a rumor.
