Opel released details and photos on a new version of the Corsa hatchback. We talk about the Corsa 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX, a model that packs a 1.3-liter diesel engine delivering 95 horses and 190 Nm of torque.
With this tiny CDTI engine and a fuel economy of 3,1 liters/100 km (75,8 mpg US), it is the most frugal car that Opel sells.
The engine is linked to an Easytronic 3.0 transmission which also helps with the fuel economy. Last but not least, CO2 emissions are rated at just 82 g/km.
“The five-speed Easytronic 3.0 weighs less and has lower internal friction than a conventional automatic transmission. It combines the advantages of a comfortable automatic transmission with the efficiency of a manual transmission,” says Opel about the new gearbox.
In order to improve the figures, Opel fitted the new mode with low-rolling resistance tires as well as a start/stop system and regenerative braking. As mentioned above, the new Opel Corsa 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX will go on sale in the home market in March.
