McLaren is trying to work its way out by releasing all sorts of models that starts with the “P” and ends up with 2, 3, 13, or whatever. Perhaps is the supersports car`s desire to conquer the world with some non-exotic names.
Under these circumstances, the automaker is also working on a project, also starting with “P” – the P15, which is something between the McLaren`s MP4-12C Sprint and P1. The car is set to compete with the famous Porsche 911.
The project is in its earlier development stages, as chief Executive Officer at McLaren, Mike Flewitt stated. He also admitted that the P15 has a long way ahead the production line, but might come with some surprises that would never be forgotten.
I am talking about a tuned version of the 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, following the 12C`s footsteps with its turbo engine, without knowing if the supercar would also sport the hybrid power from the P1.
The P15 is priced at about the massive 400,000 pounds, which is also between the 12C`s $229,000 and the P1`s staggering $1,150,000.
Since it will go on sale in 2015 or 2016, the P15 would be sold in around 2,500 units a year.
