For quite some time now, the German car maker Porsche has been bragging about returning to the LeMans 24 hours race.
2014 was the year that finally happened, and while the results were not that great, the manufacturer still seems proud to be back in the race – literally.
In fact, they are so proud they even released a nicely edited video patting themselves on the back and trying to downplay the results. Of the two Porsche 919 hybrids entered in the race, only one managed to finish the race, and it did so on the 11th place with 348 laps.
This is not exactly brilliant for a brand that was expected to be on the podium, but not too bad either, considering what happened. Both cars experienced powertrain issues, incapacitating the #20 car after 22 hours of driving and costing the #14 car valuable time.
