This is something rather unexpected as Audi will be coming to the SEMA show and they won’t be doing it just to grab a few ideas but will have their own stand over there.
As to be expected for a first time appearance, nothing powered by ethanol, with space thrusters or rockets attached will be found in the first ever Audi display over at SEMA.
What the world of the most popular American tuning meetup will find at the Audi stand is a custom job on the Audi R8 V10 Spyder and driverless Audi TT they used to climb up at Pikes Peak.
The Audi R8 V10 Spyder will feature an engine prep job done by the team over at STaSIS Engineering who managed to squeeze 710 horsepower and 523 lb-ft of torque out of the 5.2 liter V10 engine via the use of a supercharger and a few other “go faster” bits.
The other important attraction comes in the form of the so called Autonomous Audi TTS Pikes Peak I was talking about and while it is interesting of a car as far as the tech used is concerned it’s not that impressive as a tuning job.
According to David Tait, the man who for this year is Audi’s spokesman on the SEMA project, the two Audi items mentioned here won’t be everything the Germans will be showcasing in Las Vegas. Add to this list a few concept items that they’re very secretive about and a promise of them being great interest holders.
