Lamborghini’s Gallardo is definitely reaching the end of its life on the road and the Sant’Agata Bolognese plant is already going to ramp up for a replacement.

Motorsport however doesn’t really move at the same pace as the road legal cars and therefore it’s going to be a little tricky for them to keep up with the situation.

Happily though, there’s plenty of companies out there that, like Reiter Engineering, can bring any model up to speed, even the Lamborghini Gallardo.

Their recently unveiled Lamborghini Gallardo LP600+ GT3, goes to town on the performance levels as much as it does in the visual lunacy department.

That 5.2 liter V10 engine gets retrimmed and recalibrated to the point where it develops at least 600 horsepower. There’s an epic difference between this model and the engine in the standard one.

No rev limiter stands active and this “more than 600 horsepower” rating at 8.000 rpm. As you’d imagine, the racing specific components don’t stop there.

Reiter Engineering completely reworked the suspension system to a point where it’s really boring to talk about. These changes are helped along by the upgraded brake system.

The improved mechanical grip, stability and stopping power gives the Lamborghini Gallardo LP600+ GT3 a considerable upgrade over last year’s version of the racer.

We don’t know what the new Raging Bull race car will cost yet but the price isn’t expected to go much higher than the Reiter Engineering Lamborghini Gallardo of last year.

That model stood at some $375.000 before taxes.
