The rumor mill with the Mercedes-Benz testing out a series of models from AMG is not new, the German carmaker already announcing some major changes, including a new A45 as well as a less performance model in the shape of the A40 Sport, slotted to debut as a 2018 MY.
And a recent spy photo popping-up on YoutTube is showing us a fully-camouflaged AMG model playing on the Ring, with experts worldwide being undecided whether it is the A40 or the much more potent A45 from the A-Class.
With the expertise revealing sportier brakes behind the new alloy wheels, we have reasons to believe that this would be indeed the test mule of the upcoming Mercedes-AMG A40 Sport, especially since a kind of A45 was already being testes some while ago and coming with some slight body changes.
More than that, an A40 Sport would come naturally, as it will fit the gaps between the A250 and the A45, the latter one coming with a mind-blowing 280 kW.
As we can depict from the spy video below, the prototype is wearing full camouflage, but one could depict the aggressive features and the new styling bits, adding as well aggressive alloys, all indicating a future sporty A-Class.
According to recent reports and speculations, if the Mercedes-AM A 40 Sport would eventually come out, it will feature with a 2.0-liter turbo engine with power between 220 kW – 230 kW, hooked to a 4MATIC all-wheel drive layout.
It will take on the BMW M140i with 240 kW, meaning a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds, or even less. More details will be released later on this month.
