Subaru has a bit of a bad news moment when it comes to facing its US customers that are interested in the BRZ sports car.

Why? Because they won’t be ready to give all of them a car. It seems that it’ll be just a limited batch that makes the boat ride over the Atlantic.

Only 6000 units of the Subaru BRZ will be available for the US market in 2013. We all know that’s just not enough.

The report came courtesy of Car and Driver with Subaru’s US reps not exactly willing to confirm or deny the situation.

What is known however is that in order to make a business case for the Subaru BRZ being sold in the US the company estimated first year sales between 5000 and 7000 units.

If that’s the case, the situation might be right on track with the predicted figures and the US interested parties should start panicking.

Or, better yet, they should start getting their orders or down payments in so that they have a guarantee on getting their 2013 Subaru BRZ delivered.

By the way, since we got into money talk, at this sort of figures, the business case for the Subaru BRZ coupe stands somewhere around the 25.000 USD region.

Unless most US customers plan to “settle” for the simplified interior of the Scion FR-S, the Subaru BRZ will be quite the hot item this week.

Even if you don’t know the precise costs, you’ll know it’s not going to be far off this region and might as well figure out what pre-ordering is all about.
