After announcing the arrival of the lovely and exquisite 2017 Yaris in Europe, the Japanese based Toyota carmaker has finally confirmed the availability of the model in the Land Down Under, with three variants and a starting price of $15,290.

As opposed to the ongoing model, the first two versions are basically unchanged in terms of pricing, while the top of the line is more expensive with around $650. Please find below the official prices.

2017 Toyota Yaris – Full Prices:

2017 Toyota Yaris Ascent – $15,290
2017 Toyota Yaris SX – $17,339
2017 Toyota Yaris ZR – $22,470.

Even if the range comes practically unchanged in terms of pricing, it adds a couple of new details at the exterior as well as inside the cabin.

We are looking here at a slightly revised front end and rear lights, the latter ones extending into the tailgate. Inside, the new features refer to updated infotainment system and better materials.

From a safety perspective, the 2017 Toyota Yaris has also received the $650 worth of package in the Ascent and SX, meaning pre-collision brake system, lane departure warning and auto-dipping high beam, otherwise standard on the top of the line ZR.

In the engine department, the new Yaris comes in Australia only with the same standard 1.3-liter also found on the present model, with 63 kW and 120 Nm of torque. The SX and ZR are equipped with the 1.5-liter, with 80 kW and 141 Nm of torque.

We surely would have hoped to see the European 1.5-liter making its way into the Australian version, or the much more potent 1.8-liter GRMN, with 153 kW. However, for the latter, chances are that we might be seeing it towards the thrid quarter of the year.
