If you were to hear the name Trident related to the automotive industry, chances are you might think it is a nickname for Maserati.
Still there are a few that might actually recognize the specialty manufacturer Trident as a British marque of not much repute.
Trident is what we would call a garage manufacturer, meaning they only build their products in small numbers. The model that caught a bit of media attention is the Iceni, which now comes in three variants: Iceni, Iceni Magna and Iceni Venturer.
The reason the Trident car maker grabbed any attention at all is the fact that they offer the Iceni sportscar with a 6.6 turbodiesel engine capable of delivering 395 Hp and 948 Nm of torque. These numbers you usually find on trucks, which need them to haul immense amounts of stuff.
On the Trident Iceni, however, those number translate into and acceleration time to 96 km/h of just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 306 km/h. This makes the vehicles the fastest diesel in the world, and now, for just £96.000, the company started selling it worldwide.
