The British subsidiary of Opel decided to introduce today a new version of the electric Ampera, namely the Ampera Earth, a version which becomes the new entry-level model in the range with prices starting from £29,995.
Under the bonnet we find the same electric motor capable to offer 149 horsepower, along with a 16 kWh lithium ion battery and a petrol engine which can be used as a generator when the electric motor can’t go anymore.
The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is possible in 8,7 seconds while the top speed is limited at 160 km/h.
Inside, the British model benefits from cruise control, air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, remote keyless entry and a 7-inch touch screen display. Features such as leather upholstery, rear park assist or heated seats are missing in order to keep the price as low as possible.
