The French journalists from Motorsport Magazine took the GTI version of the seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf for a top speed test. To be more specific, we talk about the model fitted with the Performance pack which starts at 32,950.

Under the hood, the German model uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit producing 230 horsepower and 350Nm of torque, making the 0-100 km/h sprint possible in 6.4 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.

Of course, figures are not extremely precise when you compare them to the real world situation.

Happily, the following video shows that the Volkswagen Golf GTI Performance is capable to hit the 100 km/h mark in about 6 seconds which is better than the official numbers.

The German hatchback in the video is coupled to a seven-speed DSG gearbox and also benefits from a launch control system. Be sure to check the video above and tell us your impressions of the high-performance version of the Golf.
