Say “Volvo” and you immediately think of a safe car that is perfect for a family man, although slightly on the bland side.
But come the Frankfurt Motor Show, the world will get to see up close what the future of the car maker holds in store.
It seems that Volvo is saying “no more” to the old, boxy styling of their cars and making strides for a more futuristic look. The recent unveiling of their coupe concept displays this new trend, and if we are to judge the brand by this concept, I’d say the future is looking bright.
The concept is powered by a 2.0 liter Drive-E gasoline burning engine coupled with an electric motor. Estimates place the power output to around 400 Hp while the torque is somewhere near 600Nm.
While this coupe concept will never see the light of day, Volvo official promises that bits and pieces will be found throughout their future vehicle range. As for the design of the concept, we have a solid promise that this is not just a dream, and is, in fact current styling language translated into a vehicle.
