Volvo officially announced that the new S60L entered the assembly line in China, at the Chengdu plant. As its name suggests, the new model is a long-wheelbase version of the Volvo S60, a model which will be seen in world premiere next week at the Guangzhou Motor Show.

The Swedish carmaker really wants to improve the sales in China as this market is getting bigger and bigger with every month.

By 2020, Volvo wants to sell about 800,000 units globally. This plan might be quite realistic as Volvo managed to improve the sales in China by about 40% compared to 2012. On top of the list were the Volvo S60, V60 and XC60.

The new long-wheelbase version of the S60 will surely prove to be a good decision as we all know that Chinese customers love these kind of models.
