I’ve long since stopped being surprised whenever I hear that Volvo is testing a brand new safety feature. After all, that is basically their thing, the one trait they are best known for in the automotive industry.
So I’ll get right to the point. They are now preparing a new tech that can sense when you are not paying attention.
There is no need to explain exactly how helpful one such feature could be on a vehicle, especially since every other accident seems to be caused by lack of attention. So why not have some sensors installed that can monitor things like the position and angle of your head and the focus of your eyes?
This new safety feature runs all the data and should you not pay attention while in traffic, the car will adjust itself in case of need, thus avoiding going off the road or hitting another car. It can even attempt to wake the driver should he fall asleep at the wheel.
And even if you disregard the whole safety part, this new feature will also be able to recognize individual drivers and automatically adjust various settings.
