It seems that the Volkswagen Golf R Launch Edition sould out in less than 12 hours since the carmaker opened the orders. We talk about a special edition limited to a total of 500 units, released in the United States.
As a reminder, the VW Golf R Launch Edition packs a potent 2.0-liter TSI engine producing 292 horsepower and 280 lb-ft for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 4,9 seconds. The German model is linked to a six-speed DSG gearbox, has the company’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive and hits a top speed of 250 km/h.
At the exterior, VW opted for a special Lapiz Blue Metallic finish, bi-xenon headlights and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Interior features include a Fender sound system and GPS navigation with the icing on the cake being the VolkswagenDriver Gear R kit that comes with a special stainless steel keychain and a VW R watch.
The Volkswagen Golf R Launch Edition costs $39,090 with all buyers paying a $500 deposit first.
