The results were very close to those reported by customers, therefore proving to be a good way to measure the real quantity of CO2 emissions in the near future. But how did they do it? They asked the help of two independent organizations: Force Nature Environment and Transport & Environment. Together, they tried to simulate the real-life routes, in real-life conditions: with passenger, luggage loads and the use of air conditioning system. They took three cars and headed to a specific combination of public roads, in and around cities, near Paris. The route was carefully chosen to contain 25.5 km in the city, 39.7 km of country-roads and 31.1 km of highway, with specific road-gradients. They fitted a portable emissions measurement system at the exhaust, which is the solution based on the Real Driving Emission project. All the process has been supervised by Bureau Veritas, which guarantees the results’ accuracy.

But what are the results? According to this test, the average consumption of the Peugeot 308 1.6l BlueHDi 120 S&S BVM6 Allure is 5.0 l/100km. The customers’ independent surveys report 5.0/5.1 l/100km, which is almost identical. However, the fuel consumption is way bigger than the one measured by ECE, of under 3.5 l/100km! The second car tested is the Citroen C4 Grand Picasso, with the same engine. It consumed an average 5.6 l/100km, while the costumers measures 5.5/5.7 l/100km. The official NEDC average fuel consumption is about 4 l/100km. Finally, the same engine equipping the DS3 needed 4.9 l/100km, a little less than 5.1 / 5.3 figures obtained by the owners, but much more than the 3.6 l/100 km declared.

What are the conclusions? First – congratulation to PSA, which made the first official attempt to show real measured values of their cars’ fuel consumption. Second – it’s not that difficult to adopt a correct system, to show more exactly what should be the buyers’ expectations.

When we say Peugeot Traveller, we equally say Citroen Spacetourer and Toyota Proace. Especially when talking about safety, because all three of them share the most important features: the same platform and the same active safety systems. It’s not the first time when PSA group and Toyota cooperated: as you know, they share the C1, 108 and Aygo models. It’s not only a matter of personal preference, because the engine range is different from one car maker to another.

Regarding the safety, however, all three managed the same, excellent result in the Euro NCAP tests: they scored a maximum five stars. Thanks to this result, they lead the “Business and Family Van” segment, being much safer than the upcoming duo Opel/Vauxhall Vivaro and Renault Trafic. The German/French model disappointed with its only three stars overall result. Getting back to the winners, they reached 87% protection for adult occupants, 91% for children occupants, 64% for the pedestrians and 78% at the safety assist. Could it be any better? Probably so, if safety systems like knee airbag, side pelvis airbag or integrated child seat would be available. Anyway, the new van is equaled by Vivaro and Trafic only at the children’s safety score. If you’re an adult, then being in or around the Traveller is safer!

The concept is based on the recently presented Spacetourer, the next van by Citroen. Though the name may not tell you much, it’s inspired by a French electro pop group called HYPHEN HYPHEN. It will be presented at 2016 Geneva Motor Show, so you can see it starting from 3rd of march at Citroen stand.

As you know, there is a trend in transforming regular models in SUV-like ones. Nothing different in this case, though the French will go further than other carmakers and will also fit a 4WD traction system. The body is protected by large plastic panels, stylized to be not only effective, but also catchy. Therefore, there aren’t black, but matte Dark Moondust and include orange and silvery elements. The 19” wheels inspire force and seem to have lots of grip on muddy and snowy roads. To make more room and amplify the striking image, the wheel arches are large, wide and plastic-protected.

Get onboard to receive a special treatment: the color combination of bright white, orange and green looks fresh. Nappa leather, combined with special fabric and large glass sunroof are there to give an exclusive, but youthful feeling.
A 150hp diesel engine, called BlueHDI S&S, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission will provide enough power to move the future Spacetourer HYPHER. It seems Citroen decided to produce this model, though there isn’t any information about the due date.

Back in 1976, when the first edition took place, there were some important releases in automobile market: Renault R14, Mercedes W123, BMW E24 Coupe (God, I love the 635 CSI!), Citroen CX estate, Alfa Romeo “Sud Sprint” coupe (probably their best boxer engined beauty), Alpine V6, and the icon Vw Golf GTI Mk1. In 2016, all of them will reunite to the same podium, thanks to Youngtimers magazine during the auto show. Over 120.000 visitors are expected to admire more than 500 cars.

One of the iconic cars presents at this year’s exhibition is Citroen Mehari. In May 1968, Citroen unleashed this absolute unconventional cabriolet with plastic body and lots of attitude. It wasn’t like anything else: it was fresh, colorful and unpretentious. Its light body weighted a little over 500 kg and being made of ABS plastic, it was totally corrosion proof.

It was quickly adopted by rebel young guys willing to go on seaside escapades as well as driving it around the city.The French army and police forces also appreciated it’s practicality and robustness. The production ended after almost 20 years, in 1987, with a total production reaching 145.000 units.

Almost 30 years after the beautiful story ended, Citroen releases a successor of Mehari, called E-MEHARI. Though it’s going to be officially revealed next spring, it will be present at this exhibition, as a preview and a tribute to the original model. It respects it’s predecessor in all the ways: a bold, 4 seaters cabriolet, with plastic made body, brightly coloured, with fully washable interior. However, the electric engine is as actual as it can be: it allows the car to reach 110km/h with a range of 200km in the city.

Of course, these features will be found on the better-equipped models. In terms of engines, Citroen will offer a new THP unit with 165 horsepower that will return an average fuel economy of 5,5 liters/100 km or 42,7 mpg US.

The diesel range has now two new BlueHDi units. The first one has 150 horses and linked to a six-speed manual transmission, it returns 3,9 liters/100 km or 60,3 mpg US.

A more powerful 180 hp version is available as well but it consumes slightly more at 4,3 liters/100 km or 54,7 mpg US.

“Following the PureTech 130 and BlueHDi 120 in November, three additional new engines combining economy and power are available on the DS 4,” adds the carmaker about the new engine range.

So what should we know about the newly 2015 Citroen C4 model? First off, the car is coming with revised LED daytime running lights being fitted onto the blacked out headlights, while at the back, the model is also coming with revised taillights.

The model is standing on 18-inch alloy wheels, complemented by the Platinum Grey and Stone Grey finishes.

Another reason for loving this particular model, is the power it comes with under the hood. The 2015 Citroen C4 is outputting 110 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque, for the PureTech 110, while the PureTech 130 is juicing up 130 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque.

The other versions, the BlueHDI and hte BLueHDI 120, developing between 100 horsepower and 120 horsepower, while the torque, stands at 254 Nm of torque and 320 Nm of torque.

The cabin is also wrapped with a 7-inch touch screen display, accompanied by the Rayados knit and the Liberia grey as well as other interesting features.
