Last autumn, when we went to Paris to get acquainted with the new Duster facelift, Dacia also introduced us to a special equipment, which would be available only in 2022.

The long-awaited moment has come and Dacia unveils the new Duster Extreme, a limited series, characterized as Duster’s “best equipped option”. To support this claim, Dacia announced that Extreme benefits from all the equipment of the Prestige equipment level, to which is added the function of hands-free access, 360-degree view camera and blind spot monitoring.

The details that make the difference are mostly aesthetic. On the outside we see orange inserts in the upper part of the grille, on the rearview mirror housing and at the level of the flag bars. New alloy wheels, called Full Black, with a size of 17 inches, have also appeared.

The limited series also includes a new body color, called Urban Gray, which is used on the release image.

Inside, the Duster Extreme Limited Series features heated front seats with specific upholstery and orange design elements.

Both the steering wheel and the gear lever are covered in leather.
The new Dacia Duster Extreme will be available with two engines: a 115-horsepower diesel and a 1.3-liter petrol with 150 horsepower. Prices start at 21,900 euros for the 1.3-liter, 150-horsepower version with EDC automatic transmission. Diesel is only 200 euros more expensive.

Let`s take for instance the Dacia Duster SUV or the Logan, shortly followed by the Sandero model, all coming extremely cheap yet viable alternatives for more expensive models from BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz and so on.

The French main subsidiary has also released the details with the upcoming Logan and Sandero models, which are the updated versions of the present units. Both models will also be officially displayed at the upcoming 2016 Paris Motor Show, opening its gates on the 29th of September.

The new versions add visuals updates, like LED headlights daytime running lights, updated front bumper, silver finish on the fog lights, brand-new front fascias, custom taillights and so on.

The new changes also refer to the interior, the cabin now coming with improved materials, added storage compartments and a few more with those.

In the engine department, the carmaker has not revealed the details with the powertrains, but according to close sources, the models will get an upgraded 0.9 turbocharged three-cylinder with 90 horsepower, shortly followed by a 1.2-liter engine, borrowed from the Duster SUV, with a good 125 horsepower.

Prices with the all-new Dacia Duster Black Touch edition start at 17,100 euro in the TCe 125 turbo gasoline engine, with the all-wheel drive version being 2,000 euro more expensive. Next, the dCi 110 diesel from Renault is set at 17,800 euro in the 4×2 and 19,800 euro in the 4×4.

The Dacia Duster Black Touch edition is setting apart from the Prestige version with the plethora of body styling features.

Taking a closer look at the car`s design, you immediately get a sense of good taste thanks to the new glossy black radiator grille and door mirror caps, fog lamps with satin chrome surrounds, black finished door pillars, all complimented with the nice 16-inch alloy wheels. Other features also refer to satin chrome roof bars and front and rear skid plates.

The Renault`s subsidiary Dacia, is planning to launch a hotter Sandero model, which will be called Sandero RS.

This might be based on the rumors emerged a couple of months ago, and these renderings might foresee the future Dacia Sandero RS, which showcase a lovely car.

The Dacia Sandero RS previewed here is wearing a revised front bumper, floating spoiler, black side mirror caps, roof spoiler, rear diffuser, as well as twin pipes and sporty alloy wheels.

In terms of performance, we are not sure what powertrain the Dacia Sandero RS might come with, but what we are sure off, is that the model would sport the same engine found on the Clio RS.

Up until now, all right hand drive Dusters were produced in India, at the Chennai plant.

Now Dacia decided to move the production of the UK-bound Dusters to Romania, at its home plant in Pitesti. The official reason given for the move relates to economy, as one Dacia official said this move will not only cut down on the waiting list because of the proximity of UK to Romania, but also will facilitate production considering many parts are produced in Romania.

Another reason behind the move could also be the recent number of complaints regarding corrosion on certain units. While not confirming this as a reason, Dacia did say they have noticed some “inconsistencies” in the paint process back at the Chennai plant. All of the complaints have been resolved with a callback and repainting of the vehicles.

The rendering with the Dacia Sandero RS is based on some recent reports, stating that the Romanian carmaker is planning to introduce an RS version of the great looking Sandero model.

The Dacia Sander RS rendered here is coming with a more aggressive body kit, showcasing new front bumper, side skirts, black roof as well as larger alloy wheels.

In case the Dacia Sandero RS will be eventually launched on the market, it will definitely sport an aerodynamic body kit resembling the one from Theophilus, as well as some modifications to the suspension system.

Under the hood, rumors state that the RS version would also come with some power upgrades for the 1.2-liter, the 1.4-liter or the 1.6-liter units.

However, with all these upgrades made at the powertrain, don’t expect the same power and performance found on its French sibling, the new Clio RS.

Thanks to this success, the manufacturer has greatly expanded their lineup, and if we are to believe this spy shot, they have more to add.

Last year, Dacia revamped almost all its cars, giving them a better appearance, while refining some features too. This year, it was the Duster SUV that received a facelift. And now we will be getting a pick-up version of the highly acclaimed off-roader.

Most educated guesses point towards an October release of this version, possibly at the Paris Auto Show. The engine options will also carry over, most likely. Seeing this makes me wonder if it will be just as successful, and I kind of hope so, especially considering that Dacia no longer has a flatbed version of any model, since they dropped the Logan pick-up.

The Dacia Duster has been in production for a couple of years, with the automaker also releasing a facelift version about a year ago, the SUV coming with some slight modifications at the front fascia and rear end.

More than that, as a premiere for a Romanian vehicle, the Dacia Duster facelift introduced last year, also came with an infotainment system, sporting features like cruise control and speed limiter.

Even if there were no official announcements from the company concerning a new generation set for 2017, the upcoming SUV is supposed to come with more trim levels and some other improvements inside.

As far as the engine lineup goes, the new Dacia Duster would probably come with the already popular 1.5-liter dCi diesel unit, alongside the fresh 1.2-liter TCe. Other engines are also taken into consideration.

In terms of performance and other important features, the details are still limited at that time, but perhaps other tweaked news will be landing on our yard soon enough.

Right now, the Romanian automaker`s cheapest model is Sandero, which can be bought starting at 7,200 Euro in the UK, but some reports state that the new city car from Dacia will come cheaper.

The reported city car would be using the Twingo`s platform from Renault, since the Sandero model is very successful with the Clio platform.

The Renault Dacia would be building the city car in Russia, at Togliatti, and Dacia hopes that it will enter the market somewhere in late 2015.

As for the looks of the Logan city car, the picture rendered here shows a model with now painted bumpers, with steel wheels and manual wheels, as this would be the base model. More to it, the car wouldn’t even have a radio of its own.

Dacia is being successful after it hit the European market faster enough, starting with last year, when the Romanian automaker managed to raise its sales in Europe.
