The carmaker has kept secret this model and we have the first pictures with it in a premiere. As we can depict from the photos, the model is based on the 488 Spider, yet comes with a lot of styling influences from Ferrari models released back in the 1970s and 1980s, or even earlier from the 1950s.

Besides the vintage design lines, the all-new Ferrari J50 Limited Edition also comes with a futuristic design, highlighted by the new front from the LaFerrari. But the model is best described by the carmaker itself:

“While the ‘helmet visor’ effect, which spawns from the window graphic, is reminiscent of Ferrari’s open competition barchettas going as far back as the 1950s, the black dividing line is a novel interpretation of a recurring Ferrari styling cue seen on iconic models such as the GTO, F40 and F50. Circling around the front of the car below knee height, it is a key element which alters the perception of the beltline, setting it at a much lower height than usual, transforming the J50 into a barchetta.”

Besides the retro and the modern design all-together, the all-new J50 also comes with the 20-inch forged alloy wheels, aggressive front end with slim horizontal LED headlights, new side air vents, two twin taillights, as well as a jet engine-inspired rear diffuser. Inside, the cabin welcomes you with an impressive feel, highlighted by the two-tone red and black leather and Alcantara.

Under the hood, the Ferrari J50 Limited Edition packs a 3.9-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, which is the same one used on the 488 Spider, developing 20 horsepower more, meaning a total of 680 horsepower. Even if the performance figures haven’t been released, rumors have it that the Limited Edition might be much faster than the Spider, which manages a 100 km/h sprint in just 3.0 seconds, at a top speed of 325 km/h.

Only ten units of the Ferrari J50 Limited Edition will be available in Japan, with the price tag to be released later on.

According to Sergio Marchionne, CEO at Ferrari, starting with 2019, all of his models will come with hybrid technology.

According to Autonews, Ferrari is already shipping out 8,000 supercars, planning no less than 9,000 by 2019. By 2025, the Italian super carmaker would sell around 10,000 hybrids worldwide. “Although I neither commit to this nor do I give any sort of certification of it being our objective, it is possible that the [annual sales] number could be well in excess of 10,000 cars in 2025”.

Stuart Pearson, analyst of Exane BNP Paribas, also confirms that the carmaker is planning new models with hybrid technology that would be sold along its higher-end supercars.

“It seems that Ferrari is now considering adding up to two new models to its range over the next four to five years – and it seems this approach is gaining favor over potential brand extension strategies. This could be a material positive… and, combined with a focus on hybridization, could allow Ferrari to breeze through the 10,000 volume cap.”

Also, for the first time in the company`s history, Ferrari is shifting its policy of building exquisite models for just the rich customers segment, towards a down-to-earth market, with models “designed to be driven every day.”

The supercar is dedicated to 70 years of Ferrari existence on the market, its body styling coming tweaked with exquisite design lines, all complimented with the small badge found on the side skirt.

Also, the model wraps the hot Rosso Corsa, which confirms that the new model will be known from now-on as the Aperta and not like the Spyder, as previously reported.

The model also comes with a carbon fiber removable hardtop, with a soft-top also to be introduced later on, after the official unveiling of the first one in 2017.

The Aperta name has been long associated with limited convertible models, like the hardcore 599 GTO, the 458 Speciale or the GT Aperta.

Alejandro Salomon, a Ferrari collector, has declared that the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta will be built in a limited of 150 vehicles, all coming with exclusive design features and impressive performance under the hood.

The rumor mill was also confirmed by Segio Marchionne, new chief executive at Ferrari, according to which the new open-topper version would be built in just a limited edition of 70 units, each one costing a whopping €4,285,714; add the 19 percent VAT, and the price is raised to a total of €5,100,000.

The price was not announced by Marchionne, mobile.de magazine releasing a post with the aforementioned numbers. From what I stand, this would not be a justified price for a Ferrari, but the carmaker declares that it took “years of experience” to achieve such exquisite models just by using “unique and direct contact with private collectors”.

As far as the styling concerns, the same rumor mill mentions that the all-new Ferrari LaFerrari Spider would come with conventional doors with two separate panel removable roof.

In the engine department, the open-topper would come with the same power of 963 horsepower, but with less performance than the coupe, because of the added reinforcement materials for the missing roof. We might be looking thus at less than the coupe`s top 217 mph.

Anyway, the FF is not that old: it had been unveiled five years ago, at Geneva Motor Show, as a replacement for 612 Scaglietti. It became the first four wheel drive production car in Ferrari history. The new GTC4 Lusso appears to be an FF slightly upgraded. Yes and no. The biggest change is the new four wheel steering system, first seen on F12 tdf. However, now it works together with the excellent all wheel drive system known from the FF, and the whole package is named 4RM-S. It promises to reach exceptional dynamics level either on track or ice and snow, combined with a close to perfection weight distribution: 47-53 front-rear.

The V12 6.3l engine is the same as FF’s, but now it develops over 30hp more, totaling 690hp@8000rpm and 697Nm@5750rpm. The drivability is now much better, 80% of the peak torque being available from 1750rpm. Though it weights almost two tonnes, the GTC4 Lusso accelerates to 100km/h in 3.4 sec and reaches 335km/h.

Outside, the changes are not as spectacular as the mechanical ones: there are only few redesigned elements, such as side air outlets and front air intake. In the back, instead of two rear lights, now there are four, looking aggressive and more elaborated. Onboard, a new 10,25 inch HD display dominates the central console, for a hi-tech appearance and an improved multimedia experience. Another interesting feature is the long, thin display in the right, which involves the passenger in driving/racing act, by showing the speed, the rpm and other real-time datas. We find the same FF’s four individual seats philosophy, for an ultimate GT experience. Ferrari GTC4 Lusso will be presented in March, at 2016 Geneva Motor Show and will hit the showroom shortly after.

The truth is that the two most expensive cars in the world are made by Ferrari. Even more: nine cars in the top ten’s most expensive ever sold are Ferrari! Here are the facts: two days ago, at Artcurial Motorcars auction in Paris, a 1957 Ferrari 335S has been hammered for $35.7m. However, at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, in 2014, a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO had been sold for the biggest price ever: $38.1m. The $2.4m difference seems quite big, but the problem is that the Euro-USD exchange rate changed in the last two years. If we consider exchanging the USD in Euro at the time each car was sold, then the 335S would be the expensive car in the world, topping the 250 GTO by €3.6m.

If you think there are only details, thing again: when you spend more than $30m on a car, you expect to get all the most of it, including the “Most expensive car ever sold” title. Until there will be a verdict, let’s concentrate on the recently auctioned car.

This 0674 chassis Ferrari 335 was produced in 1957, and is equipped with a 3.8l, V12 engine, developing around 360hp. Driven by Peter Collins and Maurice Trintignant, it finished the 1957 Sebring 12 hours race in 6th place. In May the same year, at Mille Miglia, Wolfgang von Trips drove it to the second place, behind another Ferrari. After that race, the car returned to the factory and the engine’s displacement had been increased to 4.1l, developing 400hp. Since then, it became Ferrari 335S and was capable to reach 300km/h. It managed to break the lap record at 24 Heures du Mans, with 203.015km/h, being driven by the future Formula 1 champion, Mike Hawthorn. It continued to gather impressive results up to 1960, when it was first sold to an American architect.

Rumors with a facelifted Ferrari FF date back in 2014, when the first details were launched online. Today, according to a report, we have the confirmation that the updated supercar is underworks.

There is not much to depict from the teaser image, except for the fact that the model will likely resemble the 488 model, with the new LED headlights or the grille. At a first glimpse, the teaser might give us a wrong clue, hinting at the future Toyota GT86.

The 2017 Ferrari FF is rumored to come with an entry-level variant, packing a twin-turbo V8 powertrain, borrowed from the California T model, and mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.

The top of the line 2017 Ferrari FF is also believed to come with an upgraded engine of the same 488 model, rumored to produce around 700 horsepower, all the power being sent to all wheels.

The model will also add the latest technology inside, like an updated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay. More details will be known at a later date.

Once upon a time (at the end of the last week, to be more precise), near Paris, a truck transporting 9 supercars crashed. The (probably over) half a million dollars incident happened on a road part connecting A12 and A13 highways.

It wasn’t any press release from France police up to this moment, but local press didn’t write about any injury. We couldn’t spot more than 5 supercars all over the road, on the film caught by a driver: there are a white and an orange Lamborghini Gallardo (each $182,000 new, base price), a red Ferrari F430 ($187,000), a blue Ford Mustang GT500 (under $60,000) and a black Porsche 911 (which, judging by the rear wing, rims and body kit seems to be a 997.1 GT3 RS). If it’s a GT3 RS (though the decals indicates a Carrera S), it was probably about $180,000 new.

There are some information about a Porsche Cayman ($53.000), but nothing is for sure. By looking at the pictures, it doesn’t seem that the cars suffered irreparable damages. We also believe they were ensured, but there will be some investigations, as we look at lot of money mess.

It has two new models now, and one of them is incredibly close to being one of the most beautiful cars of Ferrari. Not only does it have a marvelous black color with a strong gloss, but it is also associated with the famous 1957 Ferrari 250 TR. And we all know how popular that car was in the Buenos Aires race some years ago.

So both the exterior and the interior were designed to look classy and irresistible. The bodywork contains velvet parts that offer the new model of California T a unique contrast of colors. The wheels contain the same red shade as well, and so does the interior.

However, it consists of both black leather and extensive Rosso Cremisi at the same time. Again, the contrast makes it look really good. And while this model wants to appear a little bit old, yet elegant, the second one has adopted a modern appearance.

Apart from this, they look quite similar not only from the outside but also on the inside, engine related.
